Janine Tredwell Counsellor
White Rock and South Surrey
Fees for counselling
Rates per session are $130.00 plus GST based on the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors schedule of fees. Sessions are typically 50 minutes however longer sessions are available upon request for an additional fee.
A select number of sliding scale appointments may be available based on financial need and availability. Please contact me for further information.
Fees are payable at each session by cash, cheque, e-transfer, visa, mastercard or american express.
Many Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and Extended Health Benefits reimburse for counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Please check with your service provider or employer. A detailed receipt will be provided for you to send in should you qualify for reimbursement.
I am a ICBC service provider and am able to directly bill for eligible counselling services.
I am a service provider for the CrimeVictim Assistance Program. If you or your child has been a victim of crime you may be eligible for counselling through this program. Note that CVAP reimburses for a portion of the fee ($80.00 per session) with the remainder payable by the client.
Contact VictimLink BC at 604-875-0885 or email VictimLinkBC@bc211.ca to see if you are eligible and to get assistance with the application process.
What to expect
Counselling is a very individual process that can vary a great deal depending on the age of the client, goals for counselling, the counsellor, and their approach.
Typically we would briefly speak on the phone to answer any questions you might have, schedule an appointment, and to get a sense of what brings you to counselling to ensure my services are a good match for you. If they are not I will strive to connect you to another counsellor or resource.
During our first session we will discuss confidentiality and limitations to confidentiality (such as cases when harm to a child or other safety concerns are disclosed).
If you are seeking counselling for your child an initial session with only parents attending may be useful depending on the age of the child and goals of counselling.
Beyond those basics what counselling looks like for you or your child is a collaborative and flexible process.
